Вoth departments of the Research Centre for East European Studies offer regular lunch talks on questions related to the organisation of academia and career planning. We also support interested scholars applying for third-party funds with the aim to affiliate to our Centre.
The Research Centre for East European Studies regularly organizes Summer Schools and German language conferences for young researchers working on Central and Eastern Europe (JOE).
Currently Summer Schools are organised as part of the Discuss Data project. From 2017 to 2024 the Centre was part of the International Network in Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian Studies (formerly: Finnish – Russian Network for Russian and Eurasian Studies in Social Science and Humanities) which had been initiated by the Aleksanteri Institute of the University of Helsinki.
